Best Authors of 2013

28 Dec 2013
Now that we are at the very end of 2013 I am sharing my favourites of this year and today it is all about honouring the authors that have made this year incredible with their wonderful books.

All these authors are mentioned in no particular order and have made the list for various reasons. I was going to do categories but it was just too hard to choose who was the best for each reason so I'm just sharing the authors whose names kept popping up.

~~~
Katy Evans - A name that almost no one knew before this year but that has changed now! Bursting out onto the scene with her debut novel Real, Katy quickly hit the bestseller lists and recently grabbed everyone's attention again with Mine and Remy. She is unparalleled at creating hot, alpha male characters (ok, one hot alpha male ;P) and many of us are eager to see what this new author will bring to the table next year.
~~~

Abbi Glines - This year Abbi wrote an unbelievable amount of books and hit bestseller lists with pretty much all of them. The speed at which she can get out books is amazing and if you are a fan of steamy, character driven contemporary NA then you can't go wrong with Abbi's writing.

~~~
Tamara Rose Blodgett / Marata Eros - I first discovered Tamara's writing about 1 1/2 years ago and then found out at the start of the year that she also wrote more, ummm, adult, books under the pen name Marata Eros (I also only noticed 2 weeks ago that Marata Eros is an anagram of Tamara Rose - I feel like an idiot :P). This year she has wrote several great, varied books from YA/NA to Adult and from dark contemporary romance, to fantasy and even erotic paranormal romance. No matter your tastes you will be able to find a book you will like from this author :)
~~~

Jamie McGuire - For taking the risk and trying something different to the book that made her big. After the stand out success that was Beautiful Disaster, Jamie McGuire released three books this year. Two were books following the same characters as the NA contemporary romance that made her name. The third was a post-apocalyptic zombie novel. A zombie novel. I really respect Jamie for writing something a little different rather than just sticking to what she knew would be successful. It took guts. The book was really good too!

~~~
Lauren Blakely - Another newbie (at least under this name) this year, Lauren published her NA debut Caught Up In Us at the very start of 2013 and has published several other great books since then. From funny to sexy to emotional she brings great variety to her contemporary novels.
~~~

J.A. Redmerski - Best known for The Edge of Never, Jessica has written several fabulous books this year and I am honestly obsessed with her work. Her books have this slight undercurrent of darkness that I love and she isn't afraid to step out of the box. I was lucky enough to read her early 2014 release Song Of The Fireflies already and if that is anything to go by she is going to be giving us equally amazing books next year.

~~~
Aleatha Romig - Now I love books that have an incredible suspense filled storyline and a very unique plot and there is no denying that Aleatha Romig is the master of this sort of book. 2013 saw the end of the Consequences trilogy (though an alternate pov novel is coming in 2014) and no matter how hard I look for a book with equal suspense and mystery nothing else beats Consequences, Truth and Convicted (Either Side Of Midnight by Tori de Clare is the book I have found that comes the closest). I am really excited to see what new characters and books Aleatha will give us in 2014.
~~~

Jennifer L Armentrout / J.Lynn - So, well its hard not to know this name/names. She has loads of fantastic books varying from YA to NA and Adult in both fantasy/paranormal and contemporary genres and she is amazing. Lots of her books are amongst my favourites of this year.

~~~
Lizzy Ford / Chloe Adams - I have loved Lizzy Ford's books for a while now because she writes great sci-fi romance and urban fantasy / paranormal novels. Also this year she expanded into contemporary NA too under the pen name Chloe Adams. Some of my favourite non-contemporary reads this year were written by Lizzy and I WANT MORE! :P (Oh and if you haven't read any of her books before she has loads of freebies on amazon that you can try).
~~~

Molly McAdams - Now I am a HUGE fan of Molly McAdams and she has released several amazing books this year. She is the queen of writing books that drag you head first into the story and she never fails to make me feel all emotional whilst reading her books. I cant wait for next year as she has yet more fabulous seeming releases coming up including the conclusion to a MASSIVE cliffhanger we were left with from one of the books.

~~~
There are loads of other amazing authors that I wish I could feature here on the list but I don't have time to mention everyone! Here are a few other authors that re worth checking out - Tara Brown, Diana Peterfreund / Viv Daniels, C.L Stone, Rhonda Helmes / Olivia Mayfield, S.M Johnston, Carrie Butler, Pepper Winters, Stephanie Witter and Juliana Haygert.
