Netgalley November Week 1 Recap

9 Nov 2013
So, the first week of Netgalley November is now over. How did I do? Not that great actually as I only read 3 books and they were all novellas. In my defense I didnt read ANY books Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday due to the massive amounts of University coursework I have due next week.

I did however get 4 reviews written and submitted (3 were books I had read a while back) so my feedback percentage has gone up slightly. Check out my review for Deadly Game: Follow Me #1 which is the first book I read for this challenge (I may also have read the other 4 books in the series so I'm way off having 75% of my November reads as NetGalley books) - http://bookishtreasures.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/review-of-follow-me.html

I got one book off NetGalley this week which was Elect by Rachel Van Dyken and because of the extra rules I set myself I have to read it this month.

These are the books I have read so far -

I don't think that I will do any better next week as I have FOUR big projects for University due in a 24 hour period on Wednesday/Thursday (oh the joys of being a third year student) but I can hope. I'm not sure what to read next so feel free to make some suggestions.

  1. I think you did great. I know what you mean. it's hard to do this and college at the same time.

  2. I think you're off to a good start! Especially since you've already written and submitted reviews. It's easy to blow through books, but to take the time to write the review and submit it takes time and thought. :)

Isn't She Lovely is one of the books I read this week. I adored it.

Whatever you pick next, I hope you enjoy it! My week was totally hit or miss.

    My recap.

  4. At least you have made a start!

I loved Finding It. I adore that entire series by Cora has definitely saved the best till last.

I wasn't as impressed with After Eden. There was nothing unlikeable about it but it was missing something..... I think that it would be better suited to a younger/less prolific reader.

We have a couple of the same titles. I will be interested to see what you think of them.

I have really noticed that my approval rating has gone done since Netgalley started to provide a percentage on my profile.I am really hoping that this challenge will ell me to tackle my Netgalley TBR and improve the situation.

After the first week I am at approx. 50%. I don't know how close to 80% I will get ( my math's isn't very good) but I am aiming to read 8 books during the challenge. So far I have managed 2!

My plan is to start with the recently published and work my way back through my galleys

Now, if only I could resist the urge to request more titles...

  5. Great progress. I read three also. I have to admit that I ended up requesting more than I read (: - I have no will power and my NetGalley clicking finger had a mind of it's own - LOL.
