Wow! Katy Evans didn't let the sexual tension between Brooke
and Remy decrease in this book! Their chemistry smoulders and sizzles off the
page. I think all readers will agree that Remy is the hottest thing out there.
Sometimes when you have books as amazing as REAL the sequel
can seem stale, the spark between the characters dead. This was not the case
with MINE! Katy Evans has created a book with the perfect mix of heart
wrenching emotion and raw, primal sexuality.
Remy and Brooke have an obsessive all-consuming type of love
that not every reader will understand. I loved it as it made their relationship
feel so much more real to me and it explains why they both act the way they do.
Brooke is slightly insecure at the start of the book and
though I usually hate “weak” characters, in this case it felt justified and I
loved seeing Brooke’s more vulnerable side. She loves Remy but is struggling to
come to terms with some of the things that happened when she left, and worse
that it was her actions that ultimately started it. In her situation I would
act the same way, and hell who wouldn’t act possessive over a man as sexy as
Remy?
I loved that later in the book Brooke’s tough and feisty
side came out more showing that she was more than strong enough to handle Remy.
We also got to see some of Remy’s softer, quieter and more tender side in this
book though there was still plenty of his commanding, powerful sexiness.
Remy has this raw, primal and animalistic nature that you
don’t see very often in contemporary novels and instead usually only in shifter
romance novels (imagine how amazing a PNR novel written by Katy would be!!!) I
loved this unique element as well as his bi-polar disorder as it made him so
much more than just your usual cookie-cutter hero.
Remy is the perfect example of why women want to read books
with alpha heroes; you don’t get any hotter and more panty-dropping than Remy!
The emotional intensity is ramped up a little for this
sequel as there several tense, emotional moments and it even gets a little
heart breaking towards the end. Luckily there is also lots of steamy scenes to
help keep the balance ;)
Also helping make this book amazing is Katy Evans’
incredibly beautiful writing. Remy and Brooke’s story wouldn’t be half as good
without Katy’s talent for capturing their emotions and intensity onto the page.
Every sentence is just so quotable!

MINE is a great read with characters that will grab at your
heart and refuse to let go. I can’t wait to read Remy which will tie up the
rest of Remy and Brooke’s story. Best of all, it is from Remy’s pov! I HIGHLY
recommend this book and series. Let Katy Evans show you what a real sexy and
well written romance looks like.
