Review of More Than You Know

16 May 2013

More Than You Know by Alexandria Rhodes

After surviving a devastating car accident that took her father's life, Bryn Woods feels like she has nothing left in her hometown of Savannah, GA. Along with losing her father, her boyfriend, Tyler, unexpectedly leaves town the same time of the accident. Feeling alone, broken and confused, Bryn leaves Savannah for college in New York City to escape her heartbreak.

Four years later, Bryn returns to Savannah to live in her childhood home. Slowly, she begins to let the people of her past back into her life. She lets the protective walls she's built to protect herself crash down around her. As she begins to find love again with Tyler, secrets start to unravel themselves about his past. Tyler has secrets of his own. Secrets connected to the death of Bryn's father. Secrets Tyler didn't even know he kept.

Overall More Than You Know was a very good book. The storyline is quite predictable but I still found it to be an enjoyable read. It is your typical "girl moves back home after college to all the people she left behind" story but with a few little interesting twists. It was a sweet, smooth easy read; there were a few dark elements but they were written in a way that made them significantly less dark.

I liked Bryn and Tyler's relationship. It seemed very realistic and I loved that she didn't immediately fall into his arms and forgive him for everything. They had a great connection and sizzling chemistry from the start and gradually learnt to trust one another. Their romance is beautiful to read and is what everyone dreams of having themselves.

I also really liked some of the supporting characters. Olivia is great and I really hope we get to see more of her in the future. This book is a perfect example of what makes a novel New Adult; it is about growing up, becoming mature and putting the past behind you. I definitely recommend this book and i can't wait to see what the author will bring in the future.
