Stacking the Shelves / Showcase Sunday #4

10 Feb 2013
Showcase Sunday is hosted by Vicky @Books, Biscuits, and Tea and Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews and they both give bloggers the opportunity to share the books they have received in the past week.

This week i have recieved some paperback books and a lot of free amazon downloads. I really am loving the books i have got this week.

I also currently have a giveaway running for an ebook copy of Avadonya, just visit my giveaway page or look through my posts.

For review

Sky

(Paperback)

I recieved a review request for this book from the author and i thought the synopsis sounded really interesting so i just knew that i had to read it. It is a YA Sci-Fi/Fantasy book with a bit of horror. The author is also from the UK and i love reading UK YA books. Partially because things are spelt correctly and called by the right names : P Im looking forwards to reading this.

Never Forget

I recieved this book to review as part of a blog tour i am participating in in a few weeks. It is an NA contemporary romance also by a UK author. It sounds like a great book and i know some bloggers who have really loved it. I am also loving that beautiful cover.

Netgalley

Mila 2.0

I have been desperate to read this book since i first heard about it last year, it is one of the first of several YA Sci-Fi books being released this year and it has been described as Bourne Identity style. I danced around my room with joy when i got accepted to read this. My excitement for this book is limitless.

Love Unscripted

I love the sound of this book. I know lots of people who enjoyed it and it is really well rated on goodreads. I can't wait to finally read the book that i have heard so many people talk about.

Won

(Paperback)

You may have noticed that i recieved an ecopy of this book last week. Well i was lucky enough to win a paperback copy from the publishers which is great because i prefer reading paperback books.

Free amazon downloads

This week i was in a bit of a reading slump so i decided to buy a book to read rather than reading something from the TBR pile in the hope that would help. Imagine my suprise when i noticed several books on my wishlist were currently free!

Dangerous

I have already read this as it is what i chose to get me out of my reading slump. It isnt perfect; there are several typos and the main characters personality is all over the place. However it is an enjoyable read that is quite unique and has an amazing idea behind it, it also made me buy the next book right away. Definately worth reading and i have a full review coming soon so keep an eye out for that.

The Homecoming Masquerade

This is a vampire novel but with a difference. It seems intriguing and unlike anything else. It seems mysterious and i loved the kindle sample chapters.

Book of the Hidden

YA Fantasy romance. Confusingly on amazon this book is called The Hidden and has a different cover than goodreads.

Miss Me Not

This book deals with very dark subject matter but i have heard it is well done and an unbelievably beautiful read. It sounds emotional and wonderfull and i am looking forwards to seeing how much it moves me.

Rocked Under

It is New Adult, the love interest is a sexy rockstar and people who's opinions i greatly trust have loved it. This is a must read for me.

Bought

Runaway

The sequel to Dangerous (Element Preservers #1) that i downloaded for free and read this week. I am about halfway through this and i am loving it so far.

Flight

This amazing sounding NA Fantasy is one of many books currently on a special sale this week. All of these authors books sound unbelievably amazing and this is the first one i will be reading.

So what do you think of these books? Have you read any or want to and what books did you recieve this week? Feel free to link your stacking the shelves posts or any alternatives and if you decide to follow me then let me know.

  1. Ooh, I have Mila 2.0 and Speechless for review, too. Did you see the free Mila 2.0 Origins short story prequel on Amazon? I grabbed that, too, as I heard it's great for setting the tone before you start the 1st book. Hope you enjoy your books. :o)
