Interview with Sheena Binkley

Why did you decide to become an author?

At first, writing was a hobby of mine, but later it became a full-fledge career that I want to expand on. I love to write and create characters that are creative, but most of all, entertaining.

How do you balance writing with other things in your life?

I find ways to balance my writing with my everyday life by finding the time to separate the two.  Of course my job and family come first, but when I do have a quiet moment (mainly at night when my son is asleep), that’s when I’m able to write.  Late nights are also a good time for me to have a clear mind and think.

What is your favourite thing about being an author?

With my writings, I can talk about various experiences that I or someone else may have experienced through the eyes of someone else. I have a lot of ideas in my mind that gives me ways to create new stories, so I think that’s what motivates me to doing more and to being a great writer.

What are your favourite books?

Currently, The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski. That is one of my favourite books. It had every element for a good book- it made me laugh, cry, and was just entertaining.

Are there any books/authors that inspired you to write?

Growing up, I loved reading The Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley High. I couldn’t go a week

without reading a book from those two series. Now, I’m more into New Adult romances (anything
from Jessica Sorensen or Colleen Hoover are my favourites) or interracial romance novels. 

Describe your book in one sentence.

 Love Unbroken is a romantic and sensual book that shows the true definition of young love.

What made you decide to write NA?

I adore the NA genre. I love how characters come full circle with the experiences they endured and becoming stronger individuals once their journey is complete.

What would you say makes your book unique and worth reading?

I believe my book is unique because it showcase the importance of what love is all about.  Most books have the female character trying to change the “bad boy” or the guy helping the girl overcome a certain event in her life.  With Love Unbroken, it shows how both characters are able to help each other understand what’s important in life and the importance of love.

About the Author

Sheena Binkley first discovered her love for storytelling when writing her first story for a class project at the tender age of nine. Since then, she has composed several short stories and numerous tales that are not only engaging, but simply entertaining. She is also a freelance writer, penning articles on various topics including education and entertainment. Besides writing, she loves reading, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. She lives in Houston (where the weather is always unpredictable) with her husband and son.
