Stacking the Shelves / Showcase Sunday #23

21 Jul 2013
Showcase Sunday is hosted by Vicky @Books, Biscuits, and Tea and Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews and they both give bloggers the opportunity to share the books they have received in the past week.

I don't usually talk much about my week but this time I will simply as it was so amazingly bookish. I mentioned last week that I would be interning at Hot Key Books and I had such a great time. I was pretty sure that I wanted to go into publishing and now I am 100% certain that is what I want. After I finish university, I will get a job at a publishers or die trying!

I got to spend the week reading several amazing manuscripts including one that they have just signed and will be publishing next year; as soon as they announce it I will spread the word you can add it to your wish lists. I also sent out review copies to bloggers - it was weird being the one sending books rather than receiving them - and I wrote a post about NA books that will be going up on their blog. Of course, I did lots of other things too but I'm sure you don't want me to ramble for ever.

On Tuesday night I went out for a meal to celebrate Faye @ A Daydreamers Thoughts' birthday. It turned into a bit of a blogger meet up and there was lots of squealing about books (mainly All Our Yesterdays which I have yet to read). I had an incredible evening and it was great to finally match faces with twitter handles and blog names.

Now on to the books! As usual if you click on the book cover you will be taken to the goodreads page.

Hot Key Books

On my last day at Hot Key they said I could take as many books home with me as I wanted. So I now have a huge stack of amazing YA books that bruised my hand taking home. Believe it or not I actually restrained myself and didn't take some books with me :P

Review

Netgalley

I loved the first two books in this series, they are so different to what you would expect.

Bought

Rift and Siren Song are two paperbacks that I bought at the amazing bookshop Foyles in London. The other two are ebooks, Reborn is the last novel in an amazing dystopian trilogy and the With Werewolves series is a collection of serial novels.

Freebies

This is the first serial in the With Werewolves series. I enjoyed the concept so I bought the whole lots as they worked out very cheap if you bought the bundle.

So what do you think? Are there any books you have read or plan to read? Feel free to link to your Stacking the Shelves or equivalent post in the comments.

    1. That is what makes their books so amazing! Each and every one is unique. It has ruined my shelving system though. I have everything grouped by genre and I cant work out where to put some of these books :P
