Stacking the Shelves / Showcase Sunday #30

8 Sept 2013
Showcase Sunday is hosted by Vicky @Books, Biscuits, and Tea and Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews and they both give bloggers the opportunity to share the books they have received in the past week.

I received quite a few books this week but not as stupidly many as I have at some times in the past.  My netgalley diet is going well as I no longer have any pending requests. As usual if you click on the book cover you will be taken to its Amazon page.

I have news. I am now a publicity intern for Swoon Romance! I am very excited and this added two books to my Stacking the Shelves this week. As I will promoting Going Home Again and The Cinderella Moment (and Knock Love Out - already had this book) I received them to read. It is going to be interesting being on the other side of the review requests.

NetGalley

I am on a netgalley diet but I still got two books this week. Bound By Night is an urban fantasy that I requested before I started the "Diet" and Sweet is an NA sequel that I got sent via a pre-approved link. Thank you to Pocket books and InterMix (Penguin).

Freebies

I got 5 freebies this week. All sound awesome and most are still free on amazon (just click on the image). Maybe Fate is one of the September group reads at the NA book club.

Bought

Ebooks

I bought 4 unique and interesting sounding NA novels this week. I have already read When Fangirls Lie and When Fangirls Cry and I cant wait to read the other two as they are by amazing authors I love.

Paperbacks

This week I went to London to attend the launch party of The Elites by Natasha Ngan. I forgot my copy so I bought another to have signed and as I was in London I visited Foyles and ended up getting Replica as a spur of the moment purchase because it sounded really good.

Gifts

Back in June the absolutely amazing Jamie McGuire visited England. I wasn't able to attend any of the signing but my lovely friend Faye from A Daydreamers Thoughts got me a copy of Walking Disaster signed. Isn't she the best?!

Borrowed

Faye also lent me her arc copy of The Killing Woods by Lucy Christopher who is the amazing author of Stolen.

So what do you think? Are there any books you have read, plan to read or have just now caught your eye? Feel free to link to your Stacking the Shelves or equivalent post in the comments.

And well, what a great haul! Sometimes NetGalley diets are necessary, I still have some pending requests there, but I'm guessing they won't be approved since they're a bit old!

  7. Lots of the books on your stack look good but I am trying to resist temptation until I read some of the books I already own that also looked good. Come see what I added to my stack this week at Inside of a Dog and Ms. Martin Teaches Media. Happy reading!

  11. Congrats on your internship with Swoon Romance. You got some great looking books. I also got Sweet. I really enjoyed Walking Disaster - some people seem to like and others hate it. I'll be interested in hearing what you think.

  12. Congrats on your internship! So pleased for you :-) Does this mean you'll be working from home? Is it a long-term placement?
The Killing Woods looks awesome, and I've heard good things about Killing Sarai too.

    1. They are based in America so I will be doing it all from home, it's for 6 months but just a couple of hours each week :)

I'm so happy that Faye lent me The Killing Woods, it sounds so amazing and I love the author :)
